Viewing
and Opening Files in an Archive |
|
There are two different ways of reading the files in the archive - Opening
and Viewing. Main difference between the two is that when you Open the
file, you will be able to edit it and save the changes in the archive while when
Viewing the file PowerArchiver will not save any changes to the file in the
archive.
Viewing: You can view files within an archive in several
ways:
- With the "View" button in the toolbar or the "View" entry in the "Actions" menu. This activates the View dialog box.
- With the Drag and Drop interface.
- Using PowerArchiver's CheckOut feature.
- Most files can be viewed by
right clicking on the file in the main window's file list and selecting View.
Opening: There are several ways you can Open the file in the archive:
- Double clicking - by Double clicking on the file, PowerArchiver will perform
default Windows action for that file - same as in Windows Explorer. You can find
more info about Double clicking here.
- Right clicking on the file in the archive and selecing:
- "Open" - performs default Windows action for that file type.
- "Open With" - opens up Open With menu, same as in Windows Explorer,
giving you even more options on how to open the file.
